Tires ST:01 Base are available in two versions: R – for regional roads and H – for highways. According to Pirelli, the ST:01 Base has all the standard features of the series, including profile, construction and materials. The tread compound and construction of the tire has been created to optimize wear resistance and increase service life while maintaining reliability and safety. Tread center grooves limit deformation and reduce rolling resistance; The durable tread ensures even wear, and the zigzag grooves prevent stones from getting into the tread pattern. Dual bead tread compound and Pirelli HBW technology provide ride comfort while maintaining agility and tire strength. The HBW technology allows the use of a bead wire which increases the tire’s retreadability and guarantees thermal stability, which also improves tire strength and reliability.

The ST:01 Base is initially available in 385/65 R22.5, with 385/55 R22.5 to be introduced by the end of 2013. The novelty is marked ‘A’ for wet grip, ‘B’ for fuel efficiency, the noise level is rated at 73 dB.
