Description

The Sumitomo BC100 is an asymmetric tire with improved dry handling and tread that drains water quickly from the contact patch, shortening the braking distance on wet roads.
Almost identical to the Ziex Falken ZE-912, the asymmetrical five-rib tread design ensures high performance and safety at high speeds. The wide center rib provides stable contact with the road surface, as well as quick response to steering turns. The inner ribs adjacent to the center have a block design and are responsible for ensuring a high level of directional stability and handling during high-speed driving.
The outer ribs are made of massive blocks with high stiffness to provide greater strength when high centrifugal forces are generated at high speeds. Improved lateral grip due to the increased surface contact area allows Sumitomo BC100 tires to corner faster under the heaviest loads.
In addition, Sumitomo BC100 summer tires provide increased safety during rainy days. For this purpose, four longitudinal channels are provided on the tread. Their optimal placement and dimensions provide high efficiency in removing moisture from the contact patch and improve traction on a road flooded with water.
